The Gstaad Yacht Club Ski Yachting is the club’s most traditional annual event, bringing together 20–25 teams from up to 15 international yacht clubs in the world-famous mountain resort. The invitation-only competition combines giant slalom ski races with remote-control yacht match racing in Gstaad’s indoor pool, powered by advanced wind machines. With past winners including the Royal Yacht Squadron, Royal Thames Yacht Club, Société Nautique de Genève, and Gstaad Yacht Club, the event also promotes youth sailing through a dedicated under-16 competition. The celebration concludes with a prize-giving ceremony at the GYC clubhouse, featuring a renowned keynote speaker each year.
The Gstaad Yacht Club Interclub Ski & Yachting returned in 2026 to celebrate its 25th anniversary, bringing together sailors from leading yacht clubs around the world. Over the past 25 years, the event has welcomed 1,676 participants, becoming one of the most unique traditions on the international yacht club calendar. Full PR
