The GYC has a balanced amount of sailing and social club life. On the sports side, each year several members take part in different sailing categories.
On the social side from Speakers Series over film screenings and tasting dinners the clubhouse & events committee offer a large entertainment choice.

Olympian, the William Gardner’s gaff cutter from 1913 skippered by Guillaume Fetas has won the 9th edition of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy in a nail-biting photo-finish with Viola.
On Thursday, the day traditionally dedicated to the Défis (the challenges), over 20 of the most handsome boats from the classic yachting circuit gathered on the waters of Saint Tropez to fight for the 9h edition of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy, the only sailing trophy reserved to one hundred years or older boats.

Last Thursday, 22nd August Mr. Paulo Mirpuri, President and Founder of the Mirpuri Foundation, honoured GYC members and guests with a presentation themed ‘Antarctica - Perspectives from an Explorer’ following the completion of the January 2019 expedition to the heart of the White Continent.
The presentation covered a wide spectrum of topics ranging from extreme negative temperatures adaptation to impacts of Global Warming at South Pole.
After the presentation, Mr. Mirpuri kindly offered all GYC members and guests a copy of the book “Terra Australis Incognita” written by himself during the expedition.
