The GYC has a balanced amount of sailing and social club life. On the sports side, each year several members take part in different sailing categories.
On the social side from Speakers Series over film screenings and tasting dinners the clubhouse & events committee offer a large choice of entertainment.

GYC Racing Team member Nils Theuninck wins the Finn Junior European Champion title for which 91 athletes competed in Cádiz (ESP) from 9th to 17th March 2018.
With winds up to 30 knots the final race on Saturday could not take place. With just one point ahead of Henry Wetherell (GBR), last year’s winner, Nils took the victory after eight races. The third place went to Ondrej Teply representing Czech Republic.

The Classic Boat Awards, in association with Classic Marine, was held on Tuesday 3 April 2018 at the Royal Thames Yacht Club, in Knightsbridge, London.
Guests included Royal Thames Vice Commodore George Ehlers and Gstaad Yacht Club Rear Commodore Manrico Iachia. Around 130 classic boat owners, designers, builders and other key individuals involved in the classic world travelled from Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, the Caribbean and the USA to join the ceremony.
The Gstaad Yacht Club Centenarian of the Year went to Folly, a Charles Nicholson design from 1909 that is sailed in authentic period fashion on the Mediterranean classic circuit. The boat is owned by naval architect Germán Frers. More
