Please bring your rally car already for the registration to the GAC. Further details here and in the registration document.

Registration will be open for Classic cars and Classic super cars (luxury, high-performance sports car, grand tourer). We look forward to seeing you!

11th GYC Rally & Yachting - from the snow to summer

Starting back in 2006 the Gstaad Yacht Club in collaboration with the Automobile Club Gstaad organises an annual classic car rally, combining a beautiful car drive and remote-controlled model boat sailing. For the first time the GYC welcomed with “Modern cars” a second category with luxury, high-performance sport cars/grand tourer.

On Friday evening, all the pilots and co-pilots met at the Gstaad Automobile Club for the traditional get together and registration. For the first time it was followed by a nocturnal challenge, up on the Lac Rétaud, where they had to proof their driving skills in slalom and parking the car as quick as possible for the first special stage. The yachting part comprised remote controlled model boat sailing. Due to the wind conditions a rowing competition was organized instead of model boat regattas. In the fabulously renovated mountain restaurant the evening faded with aperitif and dinner party.

The next morning, with the last clouds disappearing, all 20 cars were nicely lined up for the start in front of the Le Grand Bellevue - what a great impression. After some coffee and croissants at the GYC clubhouse, the participants started their engines and headed to their second special stage up on the Grimsel. Making their way through the snow-covered mountains they followed the instructions through the Goms down to Reckingen for a traditional lunch at the restaurant Joopi.

In the afternoon the cars took off by resetting their tachos and followed the route passing through Visp down to Gampel and up to Goppenstein. By taking the car train all the participants made their way to Kandersteg and kept going down the Kandertal to Wimmis. Just before the finish line the 20 cars were challenged in the last special stage by driving an average of 40 km/h on the last 4 km.

To conclude this exceptional event with many impressions, the pilots and co-pilots, together with their friends and families got together for the prize giving dinner at the GYC Clubhouse.

The Gstaad Yacht Club would like to thank all participants, partners and helpers for their contribution to make the 11th edition of the Rally & Yachting such a great success and looks forward to welcoming you again next year.
