Finn - Nils Theuninck

He joined the GYC in 2014. Racing in the Finn class he had already big successes on the Laser Standard before. His most recent success in 2018 were a first place on the Podium of the Swiss National Championship and 3rd in the Finn Silver Cup - U23 World Championship. He is Switzerland’s serious hope in the Finn class for Tokyo 2020.

Fantastic and encouraging news! Nils Theuninck, competing with 27 other top athletes, sailed magnificently claiming bronze medal at the U23 World Championship 2019, the Finn Silver Cup in Anzio, IT.

Nills Theuninck dominates at the Swiss Finn Championship

Great success – Junior European Champion U23

GYC Racing Team member Nils Theuninck wins the Finn Junior European Champion title for which 91 athletes competed in Cádiz (ESP) from 9th to 17th March 2018.
With winds up to 30 knots the final race on Saturday could not take place. With just one point ahead of Henry Wetherell (GBR), last year’s winner, Nils took the victory after eight races. The third place went to Ondrej Teply representing Czech Republic.
« I am totally exhausted after one week of racing and long days on the water. I gave everything, and it fortunately paid off in the end. », states the 21 year old racing team member. Read the full article here
