Star Flavio and Enrico with 2nd and LaserR Nathalie with 5th position on the World ranking list are well underway to achieve the 2012 goals.
Congratulations.
The 470 Mathias is in the middle of building the new competitive Team after three months of a hard selection process to finish end of September. With the 2 times Olympic partcipant Simon Bruegger as the actual leader of the selections we have a top athlet to join the team.
To all of us: it is a long way to go. Let's do eberythig to get there.

June – Finn Swiss Championship Thun
Valueing the importance to experience other boats and regattas the GYC team Marazzi/ De Maria decided to participate in this regatta with a record-breaking starters list.
On the first day Flavio sensationally led with ranking 7, 1, 6 continuing the following days amongst the top 3. Finally he finished this successful Championship with ideal wind and weather conditions and strong participation on rank 2.
Nathalie Brugger, Sailing to London 2012
After her extraordinary 6th place at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, Nathalie is on the road again, this time to London, with the objective of a podium finish. From the side of sailing, she did not stay inactive: she joined the scene of Match-Race, and joined the crew of “Ladycat”, the Decision 35 of Dona Bertarelli, member of the GYC.
Nathalie’s first World Cup 2010 after the 2008 Olympic Games started with a bit of stress: “Am I still competitive in the World circuit?” With 3 places in the top 10 ( a 5th rank at the Rolex Miami Olympic Class Regatta, a 6th in Palma ESP, a 8th in Kiel GER), she demonstrated to be one to count on in the World Radial’s elite. After 5 World Cup events and before the Weymouth Sail for Gold in August, Nathalie is ranked 6th at the Laser Radial Standing of the 2010 ISAF Sailing World Cups.
GYC 470‘s team Matias Buehler and Felix Steiger seperated
As I have been informed in advance last Friday by Rainer Staub, team leader of the Swiss Sailing Team SST, the team separated.
Apparently, Felix Steiger isn’t up to task with the multiple challenges between sailing, work and private life and left the team.
Rainer Staub for SST in his communiqué:
Yesterday after two months of despite, Felis Steiger informed us that he will quit his Olympic Campaign for London. We really regret his decision, but will respect his reasons.
In the past view years Felix achieved a lot for the Swiss Sailing sport. In the name of the Swiss Sailing Team AG I would like to thank him for his commitment and his sportive attitude.
Both, personally and professionally we wish him all the best and a very successful career.
Together with his coaches Matías Buehler now will look for a solution for his Olympic project. In the meantime he will be supporting the Swiss Sailing Team as mandate coach. We as well thank Matías for his loyalty to the SST and hope that we will quickly find a solution.

Together with Matías we will analyse his situation in this week and take further steps necessary to continue the Olympic qualification with good chances.
